The Clinton Years

This is a personally signed photograph from Hillary Clinton, taken on May 14, 1999, in Skopje, Macedonia. The First Lady had just toured refugee camps and given an interview to CNN Correspondent Christiane Amanpour. It was the first television interview granted by Hillary Clinton in over a year. Her last one-on-one interview took place shortly after the Monica Lewinsky affair was revealed. Among other topics, Clinton talked about the possibility of running for the U.S. Senate from the State of New York.

Hillary Clinton won the U.S. Senate seat in New York in 2001 and kept it until 2009, when she was named Secretary of State by President Barack Obama.
